Preparing for Your Appointment
To ensure your first visit goes smoothly, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing without metal buttons, zippers, or jewelry. This allows us to perform X-rays if needed without requiring you to change, and it makes adjustments more comfortable.
Before you arrive, you can download and complete your intake paperwork from our website to save time. If you have previous medical records, imaging results, or a list of current medications, please bring those along as well. Our team is here to answer any questions, so don’t hesitate to reach out before your appointment.
What to Expect During Your First Visit
Your initial appointment typically takes about one hour if you arrive on time with your paperwork completed. We’ll begin with a thorough health history and any appropriate scans to evaluate your nervous system function.
Next, Dr. Michael Eekhoff will perform a detailed examination, including evaluating your range of motion, posture, muscle strength, and spinal alignment. Palpation is a hands-on technique that allows us to feel for areas of restricted movement or tenderness along your spine. If necessary, we’ll take on-site X-rays for a clearer picture of your spinal health. If chiropractic adjustments are appropriate, you’ll receive your first adjustment during this visit—there’s no need to wait.
